Chapter Text
đ» He seems less of a handler and more of a friend to you. Somehow he manages be at the right place at the right times. Every morning when he clocks in, he tells you good morning followed by some small talk about his day and the outside world. You were always wanted to understand what it was like; even with Freddyâs explanations it didnât really help.
đ»You always find Freddy in the crowd when you perform. Well not in the crowd, but somewhere in the vacant corners. Smiling along side you. A post-performance ritual contains of compliments and sometimes a little lunch date between the two of you
đ»Itâs always sad to see him go. Especially the fact that he leaves early in the day. It wouldnât be as easy to sneak out the plex with him. Perhaps if he doubles back during the night. You tell him your little escape plan and all he does is chuckle at your silliness. But itâs not silly! Youâre dead serious. âI canât just take you home. The higher-ups would think you were stolen.âYou didnât care. You wanted to go home with Freddy! âForgive me, but I have to go.â One day, one day youâll leave. With Freddy in hand.
đChica spoils you. Maybe a little too much. But thatâs how you learned about human things. Like taste and smell and other interesting human senses. She gave you some chocolates one time after a performance. That lead to you getting an emergency cleaning and Chica a warning about feeding you anything.
đPre-performance rituals include final makeup touches with praise and reassurance when youâre feeling nervous. A quick kiss on the lips and hug from her before you get lightly pushed out your greenroom. Chica was always your personal cheerleader. You loved hearing whatever random cheer that came from her brain before you head on stage.
đSometimes sheâll sneak off from her work to see you on stage. White hair in a sea of blondes, brunettes and other colors is easy to spot. A little wave emitted from her trying to hide in the crowd.
đOnce the performance was over, youâll meet her down the stage. Sheâll compliment your performance as you walk either to your green room or the food court if sheâs on her lunch break. Itâs always nice to wander around the plex, especially with someone who usually gets lost.
đIt was with her that you learned about traveling to other countries. How she went to Japan and Peru and Spain and Germany and all these other places you can find on a map. Those chocolates that gunned up your system were actually from France. It was fairly expensive. No wonder Chica has two jobs. âI wish I could bring you along to my next trip. But I canât stuff you into a suitcase! If only TSA couldnât detect the metal in the endoskeleton.â Shehuffed. You laughed, but it did make you somber. A trip out of the country. The sights. The sounds. The flavors. You wanted it all. All with your girlfriend. But security might think youâre a bomb and dismantle you before you know it. A date for two destroyed like a plane crash.
đ For someone like Monty to be a mechanic, it was like an germaphobe working for sanitation. Hateful but heâll get paid in the end. Monty came into the job of a mechanic with pre-spite over the rise of AI and automation. The main concern being the loss of common jobs. Monty hasnât had the best time with his life yet. And he pours all that on you. Any chance you take a trip down to Parts & Services, Monty would grumble. Your presence annoys him every time. What did you do? Nothing! Nothing but exist.
đDonât worry, he calms down once you two actually have a chat. It started when you had enough with his attitude. Once you snapped at him, he snapped back twice as hard, objectifying you. It hit harder than you thought. You always consider yourself human, more human than others. And it wasnât some random flex you had. It was your identity. But after that day, something inside Monty sparked.
đIt was a real Enemies to Lovers story. A trip to Parts & Services now consists of playful banter, nothing hateful about personification or derogatory any more. Maybe youâll argue like an old married couple in your green room, but it usually ends in sexual tension between you and him. Sexual tension that begins at the worst possible times. How many times did you almost get caught f*cking each other? đ€. Whatever, you two had fun.
đâYou donât get a break, do you Cher?â
âWhat do you mean?â
âWhen was the last time you had free time? Fresh air yâknow?â
Does he know who heâs talking to? As if an animatronic had anytime time alone. Especially in a place of childrenâs entertainment. You charge. But you donât sleep. Rest mode doesnât count. âNow that I think about itâŠno.â You responded solemnly. Monty adjusted your position on the couch, holding you closer to him. Your head rest on his chest, the heartbeat syncs with the ticking clock. Itâs almost time for him to go.
âWanna head out? Thereâs space in the back for you.â
âIn the car trunk?â
âIn the back seat. âCourse if you canât fit Iâll make space for you doll.â
You snort. He says he will. Honest! You shake your head. Security will stop you the moment you get to the doors. Theyâll Decommission you and probably arrest him. You didnât want to risk it. You denied the offer as the clock struck. Monty huffed but kissed you goodnight. He was serious, but he understood what you meant. If only it were that easy.
đșNo matter how much she played it off, Roxanne was a huge nerd for engineering. The moment you mentioned if she wanted to know how your joints function underneath all the wiring, she became giddy. But if you say anything about it, she will dismantle you. You promised!
đșHaving Roxy as a mechanic was always relaxing. Any juicy gossip about the other staff members would be spilled to you. You keep a secret tab about everything that happens. Good for blackmailing. Thatâs something you learned from Roxy as well as gaslighting. Youâve gotten good at it. Yeah, sheâs not a good influence, but as if an animatronic was supposed to be good.
đșYou also act as a shoulder to cry on. Roxyâs crippling mental health and lack of self esteem was like sheâs suffering from a terminal disease. Small moments in time when she just felt like collapsing on the floor, crying rivers of tears. You of course, having empathy, always come running to her aid. Reassure, praise, pure love. You will stay here forever until sheâs better.
đșHaving said that, the pain of her leaving is similar to waking up during surgery; aching. And does it have to be right in the chest?! You want to see her old car shop, the one that was bustling before the taxes caught up. Feeling the nostalgia of someone elseâs life. The joy that once your talented girlfriend felt before. You asked her if she can build something to bypass the sensors or hacked the security system or something! Anything! âIâll think of something . Once Iâm done with this place, Iâll bust you out of here.â Youâd loved that.
âïžYou loved him. Sweet motherboard of the stars did you love him. Sun had always been so kind and caring, patient to deal with parents and kids, that optimistic and charming smile of his could instantly make the rudest of clients nicer. And he had been so good with the kids, energetic and cheerful, always putting on puppet shows or stories or games to keep the children entertained. And even after a long day, he would clean the Daycare for you. You questioned if he was an animatronic, because he was surely programmed for childcare. He chuckled and says his parents taught him right. Thatâs all.
âïžWhatâs better than having him as a coworker? Having him as a handler. Morning routine consist of a big hug from Sun. Heâs tall but youâre taller. So be prepared to spin lightweight body him around. You try not to snap him into two with your strength. You nuzzle into the crook of his neck and kiss him. Ok now you can start the day âșïž.
âïžOnce the chaos dies down, you would find a way to relax. Whether itâs arts & crafts, cleaning together, or just cuddling. Sunâs a pretty good artist, even when he doesnât try hard it still you good. You kept this one drawing of you and him outside in a field of flowers holding hands. Hearts of all colors surround you two. Oh how wonderful would that be; frolicking under the warm sun. Maybe you two could make flower crowns for each. And then lie in the soft grass, watching the clouds go by.
âïžYou two were hiding in the play structure, lanky arms and legs wrapped around each other. As said before, Sunâs tall. But your body encompasses his every time, making him the little spoon when it comes to cuddles. Sunâs slow breathing flows through your shoulder as you rub his head like soothing a child. He was rather calm, probably because today was extremely tiring. You want to say like this forever.
But he leaves early.
Actually he was supposed to leave at little earlier.
You didnât care, you wanted him to stay. To hold you, to hold praise you, to kiss you. Even he wants to stay. Itâs cozy and warm and he gets to be with his favorite person. Well besides Moon but heâs his brother so that doesnât count. He even made a space for himself in your room. An inflatable mattress with some pillows and blankets. Perfect! Sadly, sleepovers donât work out as much as you wanted. The same could be said for now.
âOh jeez the time! Iâm sorry starlight but I have to get going.â
âPlease, just five more minutes.â
âAw I wish I could, but itâs getting really late. Moonâs probably waiting for me at the doors.â
No. No! You grab onto his torso once more. The weight almost crushing him. Youâre clingy, but so is he. It takes one to know one. âOh sweetheart, I know itâs heartbreaking. Iâll be back tomorrow though. Youâll have the whole day with me!â
One day isnât enough! You protested against this eviction.
But he promises heâll stay with you.
Promises; he never breaks those.
âOkâŠâ You let Sun go. He happily peppers you with kisses before crawling out the play structure. Leaving you alone in dark.
đSuch a charmer isnât he? The moment youâre in Parts & Services, the moment a side of him activates. Moon turns into this sarcastic but sweet butler you never asked for but secretly wanted. A kiss to the hand and soft smile between his lips. At your service dear.
đMoonâs probably the most gentle mechanic there ever was. Having his hands maneuver around your wiring, gently rubbing your joints. Is this what humans call a massage? He says sort of. Humans donât really dig into each otherâs organs like this. Maybe one day heâll give you a proper massage. You were counting on it.
đThe thing with Moon was that he works extremely late, leaving the plex at the darkest hours. Which is good. If he wasnât a mechanic. You stay in the daycare for hours. Which means you rarely get to leave past those doors. For you and Moon to be at the same place in the same time is like aligning the planets together.
WellâŠthere are some surprise visits.
The lights were off in the daycare one night. You didnât even hear the doors creak open when Moon came in. Only the sound of a candy wrapper was what alerted you. He leaned back on the double doors, cherry lollipop in his mouth and a glint in his eye. You didnât think heâd be here. And so late too.
âWhatâs got you so sad?â
âWhat?â
âThat look on your face. Youâre upset.â
âŠHowâd he know?
âThought me showing up would cheer you up, not make you sad.â You told him it isnât that. You were just daydreaming. About what? The stars. You always to stargaze as humans called it. Moon wrapped his arms around your waist, his dark blue eyes poured into yours. A hum emitted from him. âYou could always just tell me. I would mind stealing you away~.â A sharp smile grew on his face. You chuckled and shook your head. It wouldnât be necessary. Where would he even hide you? Under his bed. Wouldnât that be a little cramped. Itâs better than the closet. That is true. âYou were thinking about it.â Yeah yeah. But you thought itâs better to leave things the way they are. A troublemaker could only get into so much trouble.
