FOUND SAFE!

A short while ago, Roy was found in Georgetown County by Georgetown County Sheriff's Office. He was escorted back to Horry County and reunited with his family around 1:05 p.m.

When told that he scared a lot of people by wandering off, Roy said he's very sorry. 💙

Roy Hardee, 29, was last seen at 5 a.m. on Woodland Drive near Murrells Inlet.

Roy is non-verbal, and may be at risk.

He is approximately 5’6”, 225 lbs, with a shaved head, scraggly beard, and glasses. He was last seen wearing shorts, tank top, and teal Crocs.

Please call local authorities with any information!

Horry County Police Department is investigating reports of a robbery at the Dunkin’ Donuts located at 8709 HWY 17 BYP near Myrtle Beach.

The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. No injuries have been reported.

While we would prefer not to see anyone trying a door handle that isn't theirs, it makes our day when someone tries and FAILS because of a lock.

Thanks in part to our community, the child has been identified and the parents located. 💙

Around 2:45 p.m. Monday, an approximately 2-year-old child was found walking down the road with no adult near Myrtle Ridge Drive and Drawbridge Drive outside of Conway.

Please help us find his family.

Anyone with info that may help identify him or locate his parents is asked to call HCPD at 843-248-1520.

While Dorian did cause damage in some areas of Horry County, we were fortunate that the storm was not as strong as the initial forecasts indicated.

Now, as we move into recovery for those impacted and reentry for those who evacuated, please do what you can to help each other and stay safe.

One particular item we would like to address is beach safety.

At this time, the beaches are open. However, between the storm surge and winds, the beaches have been changed by the storm.

This means that, alongside all of those unbelievable shells you love to find, you may also see storm debris, including shattered glass, wood pieces, and broken shells.

Team Horry is working hard to remove hazards, but you never know what the sand may conceal.

To avoid injury, please consider wearing sandals or swim shoes if you head to the beach over the next few days.
